Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 28, 2026

Step Ahead AI ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered sports film analysis platform that helps coaches and scouts upload game footage, generate tactical insights, and build scouting reports. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Photo Library Access

Step Ahead AI requests access to your photo library so you can select and upload sports game film for AI analysis and scouting reports. When you choose to upload a video, the app reads the selected video file from your photo library and transmits it to our servers for processing. We only access your photo library when you actively select a video to upload — we do not browse, scan, or store photos from your library that you do not choose to upload.

For example, when you tap "Upload Film" and pick a game recording from your camera roll, that video is the only file accessed and sent for analysis. You can deny photo library access at any time from your device settings; doing so will prevent you from uploading film but will not affect other app features.

Camera & Microphone

Step Ahead AI does not access, request, or use your device camera or microphone. The app does not take photos, record video, capture live footage, or record audio at any point — not during upload, analysis, playback, or any other feature. These permissions are not declared in the app and are not requested by the operating system when you install or use Step Ahead AI.

Camera

The app never opens your camera, captures still images, or initiates live video recording. There is no in-app camera button, live capture mode, or recording feature. When you want to add game film, the app presents your device's standard file picker, which lets you select an existing video that you previously saved to your photo library or files. You can also paste a video link (such as YouTube, Google Drive, or Hudl) instead of selecting a file. No camera access is required or performed in either case.

Microphone

The app never records, listens to, or captures audio from your device's microphone. There is no voice recording, dictation, live audio capture, or audio streaming feature anywhere in the app. When you upload a video that contains an audio track, the audio is not captured by the app — the file is simply read from storage and transmitted to our servers for AI video analysis only. The microphone permission is not requested by the app under any circumstance.

Summary

In summary: no camera access, no microphone access, no photo capture, no video recording, and no audio recording. All content in the app is provided by you through a standard file selection picker or by pasting a link. These device permissions are not present in the app's permission manifest and will not be prompted when you use any feature.

  • Account information: Your name and email address, used to identify your account and send service-related notifications (such as analysis-ready alerts and weekly digests).
  • Uploaded content: Video files and video links you upload, along with details you provide such as game title, sport, teams, and tactical notes.
  • Generated analyses: AI-generated scouting reports, player intelligence profiles, and tactical insights derived from your uploaded film.
  • Usage data: Feature interactions and page visits within the app, used to improve the product. This does not include precise location, contacts, or browsing history.

How We Use Your Data

  • To build and maintain your library of games, players, and intelligence profiles.
  • To send you email notifications when analyses are ready and weekly scouting digests.
  • To improve our features and overall product experience.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on our cloud infrastructure and is associated with your account. Only you and any administrators you designate can access your uploaded film and generated reports. We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Uploaded video files are processed to generate analysis and may be retained so you can revisit your reports; you can delete your data at any time from within the app's account settings.

Third-Party AI Services

Step Ahead AI sends your game data to third-party AI service providers to generate scouting reports, tactical analysis, player intelligence profiles, and practice plans. Before your first AI-powered analysis, the app presents a consent screen identifying the providers, the data sent, and the purpose. You must explicitly grant consent before any AI processing occurs, and you can revoke consent at anytime from the app sidebar (tap "AI Engine Active — Manage").

Step Ahead AI sends your data to the following providers:
